Ash From Coal-Fired Power Plant

Coal ash from power plant boiler flues and grates is transported in a water slurry and deposited in conical piles at an ash dump near the plant. Coal ash is known to contain numerous toxins such as arsenic, boron, chromium, lead, mercury, uranium, and others. When these come in contact with surface water they can percolate into and contaminate the water table below.
