Oil From BP Gulf Macondo Well Blowout on Gulf of Mexico

Gulf of Mexico, USA

Liquid petroleum of different densities form different colors as they float on the surface of the water and in layers just below the surface, and deeper still. During spill cleanup efforts, these oil layers are treated by tremendous volumes of aerially-applied chemical dispersants, and the mixtures then move about by wind and current.
