Machine tracks in paper mill waste sludge

Baton Rouge, Louisana

Paper manufacturing is the largest industrial use of fresh water: 1 A4 sheet consumes an average of 12 liters of water. Paper is the third largest source of greenhouse gasses in the manufacturing sector, after chemicals and steel, and paper mills release large volumes of toxic substances into the environment like chlorine, dioxin, formaldehyde, phenol. As consumers, we have the possibility to reduce our impact by using less paper, and purchasing recycled instead of virgin paper.
