This is the largest and fastest throughput coal terminal in the Northern Hemisphere, able to hold 6,200 loaded rail cars and offload up to 1,200 per day on to ships. It is a key link in the propagation of this toxic fossil fuel, handling primarily coal from West Virginia. Coal combustion is the largest single industrial cause of the climate crisis.
